Watercult goes retro for summer 2018

8 July 2017

The beachwear specialist’s vision for next summer makes strong use of fabrics and materials to pay homage to artisanal traditions. And the brand’s new interpretation of retro is, in fact, very modern!

Strong accents include smocking, crochet, surprising ribbed knits, and cotton piqué type fabrics.

The palette leans toward softness with luminous pastels paired with fresh, typically summertime tones, such as watermelon, as well as prints that are sometimes ethnic and sometimes floral. Monokinis also come on board in a starring role as an ultra-feminine alternative to the one-piece. More news: the Urban Rib line, which puts ribbed fabrics to work in suits with dramatic cut-outs and architectural shapes. The look is both athletic and modern with giant zippers that add a glamorous, rock ‘n’ roll touch.
