A Brazilian family business founded in 1984 by Cristina Veloso and Mark Shaw, Britânnia Têxtil designs and produces all kinds of textile decoration accessories: bows, ribbons, pompoms, tassels, elastics, appliqués, fringes, elastic and rigid braids, etc. The company employs 250 people and reports sales of $5.5 million.
The production site in Barbacena is equipped with 50 looms, 40 dyeing machines, 15 spooling machines, five cutting machines, and seven robots. Têxtil Britânnia produces 3.2 million metres monthly with a production capacity of 4 million metres.
Several times a year new fashion articles are introduced. The in-house design office works with the Carlin Trends Agency to finalise innovative products such as their brand new elastic braid fabric. Collections target a range of markets: lingerie, beachwear, nightwear and loungewear, fitness apparel and jeanswear, footwear and bags, childrenswear, women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, home decor, bedding, and more.
Company strengths include the possibility of creating customised colours, low minimum order requirements, quick deliveries, competitive prices, and the capacity to develop new products in partnership with clients.
Britânnia Têxtil exports 14 percent of its output through a network of agents and direct contact to world-renowned clients in Portugal, France, Spain, Greece, Bulgaria, the United States, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, and Ecuador.
