Papillon Ribbon & Bow, established in Montreal in 1987, designs, develops, manufactures, and sells ribbons, bows, and textile accessories with high value added. The group employs 230 people and creates US$25 million in annual turnover.
This integrated family business boasts several expertise: weaving, dyeing, printing, and faconné manufacturing. Papillon Ribbon & Bow has six subsidiaries in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and France. To facilitate manufacturing management, two subsidiaries have also been opened in Hong Kong and Shanghai.
Two Chinese manufacturing sites in Tianjin and Huilai are equipped with 310 weaving machines for ribbons (18 million metres/month) and 10 high pressure dyeing machines (25 million metres and 200 colours developed/month). The business accepts large and small series with very low minimum order requirements (1,000 pieces/1,000 metres) and low development and machine costs. It can adapt to surge production requirements with a flexible factory that can accommodate from 250 to 500 employees.
Papillon Ribbon & Bow is active in the lingerie market with two collections each year, and also present in the luxury ready-to-wear, cosmetics, chocolate and confectionery, and wines and spirits markets. Principal clients include the Chantelle Group, Barbara, Aubade, Simone Pérèle, Empreinte, LVMH, L’Oréal, and Puig. The company is REACH, SA8000, Oeko-Tex, and ISO 9001 certified.
