For last year’s 60th birthday celebration, the Israeli beachwear specialist introduced an exceptional capsule collection to showcase its teams’ savoir-faire.
The designers were given free reign for their creativity and carte blanche for fabrics, shapes, and prices. Following the success of this anniversary line, Gottex decided to extend the project by grouping the outstanding pieces in a line called Couture.
For summer 2018, the Couture collection, made up of around 30 products (both swimsuits and beachwear), again achieves excellence through the use of exceptional fabrics and finishings. The collection includes a remarkable velour fabric with burn-out flower motifs and tulle embellishments; lace swimsuits, some accented with re-embroidered leather flowers at the décolleté and others with Lurex thread embroideries; wet-look laminated prints with topstitched quilting details at the neckline (see photo); and solid colour fabrics brightened with hand-applied crystals as well as beads, sequins, and even metallic elements for a mirror effect. This richly diverse line pushes the limits of technology and is in contrast to Gottex’s other news for the season, a small collection of clean-lined, laser-cut swimsuits with bonded finishings and seams for unparalleled comfort.
