LokLam Lok, 22-year-old. She is a final year student, currently studying BA (Hons) in Fashion and Textiles, major Intimate Apparel at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Before that, she has finished my higher diploma in fashion design at the same university. She is an outgoing, diligent and a talkative person, with strong creativity. The above personality enables her to work independently in a busy environment. She is working at Chloe Mak Fashion Consultant as a styling assistant to assist the stylist during the fashion editorial shooting. Fortunately, she got an opportunity to attend the Paris Fashion Week, all of the above experiences help her developing her fashion sense and knowledge effectively. Besides, she has worked as an intern in MAST Industries Limited for three months in 2018. During the internship, she gained a lot of related experience and skills in the intimate apparel industry, such as bra fitting, pattern making and identify all the types of bra pad which currently used.

Q: Why did you choose the intimate industry? What do you find interesting about this industry?
After finished my higher diploma in fashion design, I really want to explore and discover more different aspect in this fashion industry. Luckily, I got a chance to study the BA (Hons) degree at the same school, so I decided to study intimate apparel rather than fashion design.

Nowadays, many intimate apparels can also become outerwear for women. I believe a nice design and good quality lingerie items can improve women’s confident. So, I want to combine my design knowledge in woven design into an intimate design, in order to create more attractive lingerie which can also wear for a party or go out with friends.

Q: What will your dream job be? Where do you see yourself in 5 years, 10 years?
I want to become an “all-rounder fashion designer “in the future. Based on my working experience and my knowledge, I dream to become a fashion designer who can design different collection, no matter is lingerie, sportswear or womenswear.  I don’t want to limit myself in design because I believe my collection can be able to tell my story and my thought to my customer. Also, I want to produce and styling the fashion editorial as much as I can. Therefore, become an “All-rounder” is my goal to achieve.

Q: Do you plan to create your own brand?
Yes, I have dream about it and working very hard on it right now.

ABOUT HER COLLECTION – MEET ME AT THE CEMETERY GATES

a full collection to be unveiled @ Interfiliere Hong Kong – PolyU Intimate Fashion Show on March 20th, 2019

My collection is called “Meet me at the cemetery gates”. Obviously, it presented a sadness story, therefore the collection is using chiffon, organza and lace to create the atmosphere of the story. And the color tone of the collection is chosen in dusty rose, dusty purple, white and grey.

Q: For whom? Men, Women, children? Which sector? Lingerie, swimwear, activewear?
This is a lingerie collection for women.

Q: What are the 3 key words that could best describe your collection?
Love, Affection, Loneliness

Q: What inspire you to create this collection? What is the story behind your collection?
My collection is inspired by the French romance movie called “Blue is the warmest color”.

For my collection, it is talking about an arty lesbian story, two girls grew up together, hang out together. And fell in love with each other. Their world changed completely, the powerful attraction and blazing love and desire are occupied their body and mind. In this seemingly perfect world of these two girls, due to the difference, in reality, their first awakening of love will never be accepted by other.

The message behind my collection is trying to say, “every relationship has its own helplessness and sadness”. Actually, everyone just wants a stable relationship. We should not deny or blame other’s choices, there is no difference between all of us. Basically, we are all the same.

Just like the line from the movie — ” Love has no gender. Take whoever loves you. “

Q: Which manufacturers helped you with the material and the production?
Special thanks to my sponsor – Parawin Industries Limited.
