After 2 months of closure, and many highs and lows, we find our French retailers motivated and ready to face new challenges. They’ve shared their thoughts and feelings with us, one week after the start of the reopening process in France.
Dentelles et Dessous by Delteil à Villefranche-de-Lauragais (31)
Starting from a pop-up shop project three years ago, Sandrine quickly opened her permanent lingerie boutique. During the lockdown, she prepared for the reopening of her shop and did all she could so that merchandise would be ready. When she speaks with her customers, she talks about “reuniting”, though under strict health and safety guidelines. She doesn’t hesitate to make herself available for certain customers, who she invites to come in on Mondays, by appointment. A good (re)start was made, right from May 11th!
During the lockdown, she made the most of her time: Sandrine used this period to create her e-commerce site, which is already off to a great start.
Thank you, Sandrine, for your optimism and energy!
Maligne & Coquine à Ploemeur (56)
Aurélie Eloy exclaims, “Slow motion was the best”. But during the lockdown, Aurélie took the time to organize her reopening by offering, via Facebook, around ten days before the reopening and throughout that period, special appointments that could be booked at specifically scheduled times. She is continuing this initiative. Aurélie, who is rather happy with the feedback she’s gotten, tells us that sales in her shop are back with a vengeance. The sun is shining in Brittany, the beaches are reopening, and customers want to spend their money locally!
Thank you, Aurélie, for your energy and incredible adaptability!

Pétillante Lingerie – Brive la Gaillarde(24)
With a great desire to move forward, Yasmina Bascle started making personalized deliveries of customer orders during the lockdown and noticed that her customers genuinely appreciated this approach.
One week after reopening, Yasmina admits that she is pleasantly surprised by average purchases that are higher than the usual amount. She has taken all necessary precautions: Masks are a must, hand sanitizer, instructing customers not to touch collections… Yasmina was nervous about hosting her clients the first Saturday of reopening in her small boutique…but in the end, it was in a state of relief (and exhaustion) that she made it through a marvelous day that was admittedly a bit rough!
Thank you, Yasmina, for your tenacity and open-mindedness!

Exquise Lingerie à Saumur
Marina Goyet, whose boutique has been in business for 5 years, remains optimistic about getting through this health crisis. She is convinced that it’s crucial to remain totally available to serve her customers. And so, starting in April, she increased her communications through social media, which prompted many responses from her customers, to whom she offered delivery, home try-ons, and returns. This personalized service is now being maintained and extended! On the boutique side, her loyal customers were waiting for the big reopening day with bated breath. Customers of Exquise Lingerie really wanted this lovely shop to stay in business for many years to come.
Thank you, Marina, for your energy, spirit of service, and optimism.
