Summer 2019 has seen a definite craze for bralettes and bandeaus, throughout the collections, reinventing the genre for the lingerie industry. In lingerie, the bandeau becomes a proper beauty accessory, both discreet and lightweight (Fleur of England). Bralettes have diversified for an increasingly structured bust, while accessorising the finishes for a super-stylish look (Variance, Ruban Noir, Annebra, Else).

When it comes to swimwear, designers are taking new inspiration and reinventing both the bandeau and the bralette for stylish and wellsculpted silhouettes! This year, the bandeau and bralette are the winning duo of the summer and are no longer opposed in terms of their style and their maintenance (Feraud, Body Glove, Chamela, Hateia, Saha).

The bandeau now comes in endless designs and styles to fit all shapes and sizes of breasts (Simone Pérèle, Vanity Fair, Billabong, Antifreeze, Melissa Odabash): straight, twisted, with or without wiring, preformed, padded, and more!

The bralette, often associated with the world of sports-chic, has adopted a more fashionable feel with finishes inspired by ready-to-wear (Repainted, Maryan Mehlhorn, Emporio Armani, Panache, Sarah & Sorrentino), and styles offering more coverage, created in glossy materials (Hannah Khalil, Feba), for a modern and contemporary look.
